When Was the Last Time You…?

There are lots of ways to end this question:

  • cried at a movie
  • took a trip
  • read a book
  • got angry
  • ate cotton candy

But other questions are more thought provoking.

  • When was the last time you went to bed hungry?  Not starving, but just hungry?  Lots of people in the world are hungry now.  And lots of people are starving.
  • When was the last time you appreciated your job?  I don’t mean enjoying what you do, but truly feeling grateful you have the income to pay the bills and buy food.  Lots of people would trade places with you in a heartbeat.
  • When was the last time you told someone how truly proud you are of them?  Not just a casual compliment.  Someone in your world right now is beating themselves up because they don’t think they’re good enough or can ever be good enough.  You may make the difference. Call them.
  • When was the last time you gave someone a hug?  Simple human touch means so much.  Giving a genuine hug, especially to someone who’s not expecting it can inspire hope and lessen sadness.

We lead our lives at such a frenetic pace that we don’t often think about questions like these.  If even one person is a bit more thankful, more appreciative, more open and more giving, then this blog has done its job.

The road is easier together,
Linda
