On this Thanksgiving holiday 2020, I’m not going to tell you what you should or shouldn’t do.

However, here are the grim statistics:

Cases worldwide (as of this writing): 58,966,390
Deaths worldwide: 1,393,190
Cases in the United States: 12.028,081
Current Hospitalizations in the United States: 83,870
Deaths in the United States: 255,076

You don’t need to be told that on average, 226 people in the United States die from COVID every day. Put another way, COVID kills someone every 6.37 minutes. Every person who dies is someone’s grandmother, grandfather, mother, father, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, friend, child.

Whatever you have decided to do this Thanksgiving Day, please take time to tell those you love how you feel. Send a card, write a letter, share an experience that was meaningful or thoughtful or that touched you. You may never have the chance again.

Be safe. Stay healthy. Give thanks.

The road is easier together,
