We had new flooring installed in the office. Of course, it was necessary to move everything. Putting years of accumulated “stuff” back forced me to take a hard look at what I really wanted to keep. I could not remember why I was holding on to all of it.
This exercise made me think of all the mental stuff in our businesses and lives. We are reluctant to throw out memories, beliefs and attitudes we were at one point associated with, even though they don’t make as much sense today as they did then.

The problem, of course, is that like my closet, you can’t add new stuff when the old stuff is taking up all the room.
I’ve filled boxes full of stuff I no longer use or need. They will be delivered to local thrift shops to be re-purposed.
My husband walked in, saw the boxes and asked, “What are you doing?”
I replied: “Clearing my head.”
