When anyone starts a business, one of the first things their banker wants to see is their business plan. Every good business plan has a section called Competition.
It includes information such as:
•Who is your competition
•Location of competition
•Financial information on your competition
•Niche markets you serve that your competition doesn’t
•Strengths and weaknesses of your company compared to your competition
What if you looked at competition another way? Jim Altucher says,
“Your competition is not other people but the time you kill, the ill will you create, the knowledge you neglect to learn, the connections you fail to build, the health you sacrifice along the path, your inability to generate ideas, the people around you who don’t support and love your efforts, and whatever god you curse for your bad luck.”
That may change the way you think about competition. Now who do you think your competition is?
Do you remember the cartoon characters Popeye the Sailor Man & his nemesis Bluto? They take competition to a whole new level in the cartoon “Taxi-Turvey” .
