I’m Thankful I’m Not Sleeping In A Car

Thanksgiving is the time to feel gratitude and give thanks for the blessings in our lives – our life, our health, our friends and our families.  It’s the time to acknowledge the good deeds of others and be thankful.  Some of the most poignant Thanksgiving thoughts come from children:

  • I’m thankful that we’re living in a house and not our car this year.
  • I am thankful we will be going to the church for dinner because we don’t have much at home.
  • I am thankful my daddy is home from the war.

We all have something to be thankful for, and each one of us has the power to make someone else thankful.  It can be as little as a smile and a kind word or as much as a roll of bills dropped into a red bucket.  Someone, somewhere, will be thankful that you took the time to care.

Here are a few Thanksgiving quotes I thought you’d enjoy.

“The pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts … nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving.”
–H. W. Westermayer

“Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our Thanksgiving.”
–WT Purkiser

“Coexistence: what the farmer does with the turkey – until Thanksgiving.”
–Mike Connolly

Thanksgiving 8000 calorie poem
May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious
and your pies take the prize,
and may your Thanksgiving dinner
stay off your thighs!
