Seeking Richness in Our Days

More than ever, people are looking to the future. “When this is over, I’m going to…. or “When the time is right, I can’t wait to …”
What about the experiences, good and bad, we are having today? Are you seeking out the richness of our days? Here are five ways to remember what we have and how to benefit from what we are learning every day.

Be grateful, count your blessings. Gratitude is the pathway to happiness. The more grateful we are for the things we have, no matter how small they may be, the happier we’ll be in life.

Be present, live in the moment. Miracles are occurring all around us – we must pay attention in order to see them. Take a walk, let the sunshine on your face, seek out a friend, help someone in need. The truth is life is a beautiful gift. It’s here today and can be easily gone tomorrow. Don’t take it for granted.

Downsize rather than upsize. Sometimes in order to appreciate what we have, we have to get back to the basics, a smaller home, a simpler car. Use money on experiences and people instead of things.

Smile even when you don’t feel like it. It sounds like such a simple thing to do, but it’s essential when you want to appreciate the simple little things. Remind yourself of all the good you have and the wonderful people you know. You have a life that many dreams to have.

Focus on your faith and belief. If you’re a believer in God, Allah, Buddha, or the power and energy that binds us all, focus on your faith and belief. The importance of faith is second to none. Appreciate everything in your life, even the problems, because they were put there for a reason.
